HEALTH BENEFITS OF PLAYING BOWLS. - Read the advice of Lee Bell, BSc (hons), PGCE, MSc, Consultant Physiology Lecturer -

"Stay Healthy, Stay Bowling"

Further to yesterday's announcement that a member of the club has tested positive for COVID-19 within 2 days of playing in league matches at Banister Park last week, the Management Committee has now decided to close the club for two weeks from tomorrow Monday October 19 to  carry out a thorough clean of the premises and review the situation, and re-open on Monday November 02, 2020.

All league matches will therefore be postponed and all bookings will need to be cancelled and re-arranged on future dates.

The unfortunate decision has been made for health and safety reasons and in the very best interests of all members, staff, guests and visitors.

Message from Andy Sharplin 12 May 2020
Banister Park Bowling Club will not be opening until we receive guidance from Bowls England and Bowls Hampshire.  That guidance, clarification on what has been published, is being requested from Government.  Safety of Members is our Highest Concern. I hope you are all keeping well and looking forward to a reuturn to bowls.

The Bowls England decision has prompted Bowls Hampshire to consider whether the match against the Founder Clubs scheduled for the 29 July at Banister Park should/could continue, It  has concluded that, in July, social distancing measures seem likely still to be in place and that large gatherings of people (96 players would be involved) will remain prohibited. It felt, also that, even if restrictions should be lifted, it would be difficult, in such uncertain times to persuade enough people to participate.  Sadly, therefore, it  been decided to cancel the match against the Founder Clubs.

If you need to make contact, please call Julian on 07770 924441.
The big question mark is over Geoff's President's Tour in September. It all depends on the three clubs that we are playing against.
Bowlswear Direct will not be visiting the club for the foreseeable future but in light of recent events we would like to offer your members a 10% discount on all of our products (excluding bowls) with FREE Postage on all orders over £50.00.

Please use discount code – BOWLS1 in the coupon section when checking out online. This offer will be continuous throughout until the end of the summer season.
